Our pick of back to uni interior buys
If you or your son or daughter is going back to uni this September, take a look at our top interior buys.

There’s so much to think about when it’s time to head back to university for another year but in order to have a clear mind it’s important to have a decluttered space that feels like your own. We’ve put together a list of interior buys that we think are a must.
Motivational prints

Sometimes it can be hard to muster up the motivation at uni, so we think motivational prints are a great addition to any uni bedroom.
This Believe in Magic print (from £3) from The Little Jones is a great example but be sure to choose quotes that mean something to you.
New desk chair

There’s no doubt that uni students spend a lot of time at their desks therefore a comfortable and stylish desk chair is important.
We are big fans of this Faux Leather Black and Gold chair (£259) from Cult Furniture. Add a colourful cushion to bring in even more style.
Cute stationery

Good quality stationery that also makes you smile is a must-have for back to uni essentials. Primark’s latest stationery range is so cute and bang on trend. The range includes cool quoted notebooks, marble pens and copper accessories – count us in.
Tasseled rug
Image: Debenhams
Wherever you live at uni, whether it be halls or in a private property, a lot of the time the house or flat might not look how you’d want it to. A great way to cover unsightly floors is to lay down a patterned rug. Tasseled rugs are all over the high street right now and we’d recommend this gorgeous Tasseled Tile Print rug by Matthew Williamson (£50) from Debenhams.
Metallic cutlery

Just because you might be in a shared kitchen, doesn’t mean you can’t add your own personality to it. If you’re a fan of the gold trend, pick up this 16-piece Gold Cutlery Set (£20) from Wilko. Be quick while stocks last as we think this set is going to fly off the shelves.
Trendy desk lamp
Image: Matalan
It’s easy for a uni desk to become cluttered, so make sure to only display the essentials. A desk lamp is one of these must-haves and Matalan has released a few that are right up our street. This pink Tommy desk lamp is only £12.
Sassy bath mat
Image: B&M
If you haven’t taken a look around your local B&M recently, then we’d highly recommend it. This Get Naked bath mat is a dupe for many high end high street alternatives and what’s better is that it’s only £6.99.
Scented candles

A quick way to make a space feel more cosy and aid concentration is to light a scented candle. Also, if there are any nasty smells you want to get rid of, a candle is the answer. Make sure to spend a bit more on scented ones to make sure the smell lasts. Peppermint Grove candles are some of our favourites, they have a long burning time and you can smell them for hours.
