1. Velvet tassels
The Ero velvet and tassel drum pendant lampshade (£65) from Oliver Bonas offers an opulent take on the tassel trend. Designed for a pendant ceiling light, the lampshade is covered in plush velvet in a number of colourways – rich olive green, golden yellow , burnt orange and midnight blue – each with a contrasting tassel trim for a tactile touch.
2. Dip dye
Specialising in traditional hand-stitched lampshades with a modern Art Deco look, independent British brand BeauVamp has recently added on-trend ombre designs to its luxe lighting range. 4. Square shades
The traditional tassel amp gets the contemporary treatment with Anthropologie’s square-fringed lampshade in silver. The pendant lampshade hangs two layers of fringing from tiered brass trims, measuring 39cm high and 30cm wide. Move fast on this one though it’s currently on sale, reduced from £128 to £98.
5. Cool cottagecore
The traditional lampshade gets an update with this made-to-order Kingsleigh fringed lampshade with patchwork panels in limited edition fabrics by Alexander Henry and the Designers Guild (£195). The dark green tassel fringe measures 12.5cm and is available from Sable & Ox, the online gallery for art by independent UK artists.
