A garden fire pit is no longer solely reserved for dramatic recouplings on Love Island – the popular trend looks here to stay, even into the cooler seasons. Google searches for ‘fire pit’ were up 250% in mid-September.

5. Fibre clay fire pit
Simple and stylish, this fibre clay fire pit is great for more contemporary garden layouts. Available in both round and square shapes, the Lyneham Fire Pit from Garden Trading (£200) will create a real focal point in your garden. The top is crafted in powder coated steel that’s designed to rust once placed in the garden.
