We’ve divulged our top tips for making occasional lighting work for any space. You’re welcome.
Diffuse
Use nondirectional wall lights to create atmosphere and give a subtle wash of light. Try positioning a pair of lights either side of a chimney breast.
Lift
Bring in a floor lamp to change light levels. Uplightersm push light upwards for a softer effect, while arc floor lamps with wide shades direct light to a more concentrated area.
Mix & match
Vary styles to avoid an overly co-ordinated look. Link visually by colourmatching lampshades or choosing bases in similar materials and metallic fi nishes.
Move around
Portable and easy to reposition, table lamps are a must in living rooms and bedrooms, to light shadowy corners or give an extra glow in key spots.
Complement
Great mood-changers, occasional lamps and lights will boost a room’s ambience and add an extra layer of light, cosiness and warmth.
