5 ways to work the bubble chandelier trend

A statement pendant light is a must for a well-curated decor scheme – whether it’s for the living room, bedroom or, increasingly, above a kitchen peninsula or dining table in an open-plan space.

And there’s one particular pendant light trend that’s starting to create a buzz on social media, with some 20,000 posts about #BubbleChandeliers and #BubbleLights on Instagram, and a Pinterest thread of bubble chandelier ideas rapidly gaining followers.

So how do you rock the bubble chandelier trend? Good Homes magazine takes to Instagram to see how five interiors influencers are styling their customisable bubble lights from Dowsing & Reynolds…

PROMOTIONAL FEATURE

1. @summerhousestyle

TV exec-turned-content producer Victoria Summer is renovating a Victorian terrace house in a palette of soft, stony neutrals that highlight the original period features. She picked out brass finishings for her customised frosted bubble chandelier to fit in with the traditional fixtures and fittings used throughout the house.

‘Picking out lighting is one of my favourite things when it comes to home renovations,’ says Victoria. ‘I love this frosted bubble chandelier so much that I have two of them – one in the master bedroom and another in the guest bedroom – and I’m contemplating a third!

‘It’s like looking up at light and airy clouds and the way the light falls across the walls is just gorgeous.’

2. @renov8teen

Sophie and Adam chose a soft monochrome palette when decorating their home, focusing on beige and black tones. They customised a bubble chandelier with a black cable to blend perfectly with the dark feature wall and ceiling of their bedroom.

‘We fell in love with the bubble light straight away as we perceive it as a very modern twist on a typical chandelier fixture,’ says Sophie.

‘We were obsessed with the idea of a cluster of frosted orbs. The design creates a perfect cloud-like light on a dark backdrop, especially since the dark cable blends seamlessly with the ceiling so the baubles appear to float.’

3. @callertonkitchens

Callerton Kitchens designed an impactful room that needed a statement pendant light to hang over the kitchen island. The contemporary design featured black and brass finishes, which were mirrored in the black cables and brass ceiling rose of the customised bubble chandelier. With technology progressing in downdraft extraction, feature lighting can now be hung directly above a cooker top, allowing for more stylish open-plan spaces.

‘We used a smaller version of the bubble light in the adjacent living room to allow for a continuation throughout the downstairs,’ said Lucy Gregson, Business Development Director at Callerton Kitchens.

‘Choosing warm bulbs gave an alternative mood lighting to this kitchen design, along with other subtle feature lighting throughout the kitchen that compliments the chandelier while allowing it to truly stand out.’

4. @hannahbeaumontlaurencia

Hannah Beaumont-Laurencia, a mindful business consultant and proponent of conscious living, keeps her home light and bright, with an air of sophistication. A contemporary, open-plan living space is anchored by an exposed brick wall, and the statement pendant light provides the perfect finishing touch.

‘I chose the bubble light as it’s a modern take on a chandelier, and also a stunning statement piece,’ she says.

‘I love to mix new and old, vintage and modern so this is a great piece for that. We have it set against a brick wall, which contrasts so nicely.’

5. @welcome_to_no.1

Donna’s Victorian semi-detached home combines traditional style with a touch of rustic flair. She customised her clear bubble chandelier with antique finishes to complement the period features in her living room.

‘When it comes to decorating, lighting is my favourite part,’ she says. ‘I always choose something that makes a statement. We live in a Victorian house, and I love to retain the period features but add contemporary touches.

‘The clear glass works so well as it’s elegant, but the bubbles give it the wow factor. Custom options make it so easy for you to tailor your lighting, from the colour of the cables to the metal details.’
